Superintendent: federal Title funds released; district to reapply for seismic grants

Superintendent Darin Drill delivered the oral report at the Aug. 11 meeting, saying temporarily delayed federal funding has been released and the State of Oregon will accept an estimated $150,000–$175,000 in Title funds for the district, subject to federal limitations.
Drill also reported the district’s seismic grant requests were denied this year; he said he and Finance Director Wang plan to prepare and submit applications next summer. He warned that because of a large incoming 5th‑grade cohort the district is watching building capacity and enrollment trends closely.
Drill highlighted that Cloverdale received a “Best of Willamette Valley” designation in the Statesman Journal. The board asked questions about grant strategy and future capital planning; Finance Director Wang will present a full financial report at the September meeting.
