Mendocino CSD: recycled‑water mains in and EPA technical assistance secured

Superintendent Ryan said crews from Giladi Construction are moving quickly on the recycled‑water main, installing roughly 400 feet of pipe per day and aiming to have pipe in the ground by the end of June. "So far, I have had members of the community come in and praise them and say, good job," Ryan said of the contractor's work. Ryan also reported the district received and distributed 40 water storage tanks and is coordinating an engineering assessment through the EPA's technical assistance program (Eastern Research Group) to prepare for a State Revolving Fund grant application.
Staff said potential grant amendments could add eligible work (recycled water mains, additional hydrants and irrigation connections) if the state approves. The superintendent described candidate projects such as a recycled‑water main down Lansing Street to support fire hydrants and irrigation at Rotary Park and a recycled connection to restrooms at the Ford House, which already has purple pipe for recycled water.
