Armadillo Community Charter School Reports Test Score Gains, Launches Phlebotomy Pathway

Director Rachel Garner told the board that Armadillo Community Charter School (ACCS) centers on creating "safety, significance, and belonging" for students and presented comparative data across school years 2023-24, 2024-25 and initiatives for 2025-26. Garner said graphics shown to the board indicated notable improvements in math, reading and writing scores between 2023-24 and 2024-25, and she closed with student testimonials about why ACCS matters.
Garner also highlighted a partnership with the Southern Oregon Career Center to provide a one-year certified phlebotomy program; seven ACCS students are participating and are expected to earn phlebotomy certificates by the end of the school year. The presentation included curriculum and graduation-rate information and drew follow-up questions from board members.
