The Reynolds School District Board of Education adopted the district's budget for fiscal year 2025-26, approving Resolution 2024-2025-037 that sets total appropriations at $261,673,299.
Chair Michael Reyes read the resolution into the record and the motion was approved unanimously: "I move that the Board adopt Resolution 2024-2025-037, a resolution adopting the budget for fiscal year 2025-26 in the sum of $261,673,299, which is appropriated for the purposes listed in the resolution." The motion was recorded as Passed with a yea vote of 7 and nay vote of 0.
Board materials noted a recent PERS update that will reduce district liabilities and was estimated to save the district approximately $1 million during budget deliberations. The adopted budget replaces the prior fiscal-year appropriation and will govern district spending beginning with the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The board also approved related budget motions and housekeeping resolutions during the same meeting, including an intra-fund transfer resolution and a separate resolution setting tax levy rates for 2025-26.
