Board asks administration to review budget for comprehensive OSBA policy update

During recurring business the board reviewed a memo from Carol Hacherl summarizing policy-review work. Hacherl said required updates are being made but not all sample policies provided by OSBA have been applied. The board discussed cost and prioritization and directed Superintendent Aaron Miller to consult with Finance (Tara Garratt) about available funds to engage OSBA’s comprehensive policy-review service either this year or next.
Judy Miles moved and Carol Hacherl seconded a motion to allow administration to review the current budget to include an extensive OSBA policy update; the motion passed unanimously. The board will revisit the topic in November with any financial recommendations from administration.
