Board approves hires for counselor and PE teacher, accepts kitchen manager resignation

During its Oct. 20 meeting the Port Orford-Langlois School Board approved the consent agenda that included personnel actions: the hiring of Pamela Dickson as school counselor and Phoebe Skinner as a PE teacher, and the acceptance of the resignation of Lauriel Wentling, head cook and kitchen manager. Carol Hacherl moved and Angel Ashdown seconded the consent agenda approval; Korinn Hockett, Carol Hacherl, Judy Miles and Angel Ashdown voted in favor.
Minutes show Dickson’s start date as December (counselor) for District-wide services and that Skinner’s hire fills the PE position (DWS/PHS staffing). The consent agenda also included approval of the Sept. 15, 2025 regular meeting minutes. The board recorded the personnel approvals as part of routine consent business with unanimous support.
