COPS grant funds secure entry upgrades and new scoreboard for Port Orford-Langlois schools

Superintendent Aaron Miller told the board Aug. 18 that the district has received COPS grant funds and is using them for security and facility improvements at district schools.
Miller said new doors and entry ways are being installed at Driftwood (DWS) and Pacific High School; DWS will receive electrical controls and office video to manage entry and an additional set of interior doors to control access to hallways. Miller said a similar interior-door setup for Pacific High School was planned but the grant did not allow it at this time. The minutes also note the district is installing a new scoreboard and a drinking fountain as part of facility improvements funded by the grant.
