Deputy Wittenberg honored by Norco council; named as new Norco High School SRO

The council recognized Deputy Stephanie Wittenberg for her service to Norco, presenting her with a City of Norco buckle and thanking her for work on homeless outreach, special enforcement and community events. Mayor described Wittenberg's work dating to her 2018 assignment to Norco and noted she has been selected as Norco deputy of the year and once received a Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputy of the year honor.
Deputy Stephanie Wittenberg told the council she appreciated the opportunity to serve and said moving to the school-resource-officer role is better for her family; she added she plans to remain in contact with fellow deputies and the community. "I just wanted to thank everybody. I love working here," Wittenberg said. The council wished her well and encouraged her to wear the city buckle when she begins at Norco High School.
