District says classified tentative agreement reached; certified talks to continue next week

Director of Human Resources Jamie Ongman updated the board on labor negotiations at the Aug. 21 meeting, saying the classified bargaining group reported a tentative agreement and the certified group will meet again next Wednesday.
"We will meet with the certified group again next Wednesday," Jamie Ongman told the board. Ongman commended the classified bargaining team for their "professional and collegial approach to negotiations." If the classified association completes a ratification vote, the board may be asked to convene a special meeting to approve the classified contract.
