Mendota Unified board approves consent calendar, awards cabling contract and moves forward on preschool modular bids

The Mendota Unified School District Board of Trustees approved a sweeping consent calendar at its March 12, 2025 meeting that included contract awards, bid actions, and the district’s second interim financial certification.
In routine action the board awarded the structured cabling contract to X-Act Technology Solutions, Inc., approved an environmental services agreement with Blair Church & Flynn Civil Engineers for the Mendota Elementary classroom addition, and approved a contract with the California Risk Management Authority covering January through December 2025. The board also approved payment to the law firm Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo for attorney services (invoice #739796).
On facilities procurement, the board voted to reject all bids from the January 9, 2025 bidding process for the Mendota State Preschool Modular Buildings Project and authorized advertising for new bids for four modular buildings. The motion to approve the consent calendar and these procurement actions passed with a 5–0 recorded vote; Trustees Alma Durazo and Jose C. Zavala were absent.
Financially, trustees approved the Second Interim Financial Report for fiscal year 2024–2025 with a Positive Certification and authorized several warrant batches listed in the minutes. The approvals keep the district’s near-term operating plan on track as staff continue capital planning and bid work for upcoming construction and portable projects.
