At the March 4 work session the Pendleton School District 16R board approved nine outside grants and donations totaling $13,407.96, according to the list presented by Michelle Jones, Director of Business Services.
Jones presented awards including $4,800 for a PHS AP Biology trip to the coast, $3,000 to support PHS music performance at Disneyland, and smaller donations for track, football scholarships, and school-specific program supports. Director Beth Harrison motioned that "the grants [be] approved as presented and a letter of appreciation sent to each agency;" Director Anne Keeler seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Board approval authorizes the district to accept and allocate the donated funds to the listed activities. Jones had asked that letters of appreciation be prepared for the contributing organizations.
