Medford board hears "Coherency in Action" update on strategic plan and programs

Superintendent Bret Champion told the board that the Strategic Planning Team—70 educators, parents, students and community members—constructed a plan grounded in the principle that "ALL are learning and learning is for ALL." Champion and invited presenters outlined four key themes: Nurturing and Growing Potential; Engaging in Hands-on Learning; Harmonizing Community; and Upstreaming Resources.
Presenters from across the district and partner organizations described initiatives intended to translate the strategic plan into practice: Graduation-on-Track systems, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), ABLE Leadership, preschool expansion and ongoing curriculum development. The board praised presenters for their dedication and did not take formal action beyond advancing awareness of these initiatives.
