The Mendota Unified School District Board of Trustees on June 11 unanimously adopted the district's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and approved the annual budget for the 2025–26 school year, with roll-call votes recorded as 7-0.
Trustee Sergio Valdez moved to approve the items; Trustee José C. Zavala seconded the motion and the board took roll-call votes approving the LCAP and budget. The LCAP and budget were listed on the consent calendar and finalized during the meeting.
Board members framed the actions as part of ongoing efforts to support student achievement and programs districtwide. Trustee Lupe Flores said the district is focused on student outcomes, observing that “we are educating our students, not having some of the issues other states are experiencing with high failure rates.”
The approvals complete the budget and accountability plan process for the coming school year and enable staff to begin implementing programmatic changes and expenditures in July, when the schedules and salaries roll over for 2025–26.
