The approved schedule sets application-question submissions (maximum five questions per board member) to district staff member Jodi by 12:00 p.m. on May 13; the application goes live by 5:00 p.m. on May 15; applications due by 5:00 p.m. on May 22; board members' individual rankings of applicant answers due by 5:00 p.m. on May 27; interviews of the top three ranked applicants on May 29 or May 30; and swearing in the new member at the June 5 board work session if the schedule holds. Board Directors Kendell Ferguson, Suzanne Messer and Lilia Caballero will meet May 14 to finalize the application questions.
Board Chair Cynthia Wright read Atkinson’s resignation into the record and thanked her for two years of service; Atkinson cited a family relocation. Directors discussed whether to revise Policy BBE and whether to delay appointment until after the May 20 election, but the board voted to proceed with the timeline and the outlined selection steps.
