Spearman ISD adopts 2025–26 budget by function; Exhibit A lists $10.34 million

The Spearman I.S.D. Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2025–26 district budget by function during a special session on Aug. 27, 2025. The motion, made by Anne Maria Pearson and seconded by Scott Sonnenberg, was recorded as carried 6-0.
Exhibit A attached to the meeting record lists function-level allocations including Instruction at $5,385,208; Plant Maintenance $1,237,200; Food Service $596,636; and General Administration $633,457. Line items for payments to fiscal agent and inter-government payments are listed at $73,500 and $109,150 respectively. Exhibit A shows a "TOTAL BUDGET: $ 10,342,315.00." The public hearing text in the minutes separately records that "The total budget was presented in the amount of 9,745,679.00," a discrepancy the board did not reconcile in the special session minutes.
Board approval adopts the function-level spending plan for the 2025–26 fiscal year. The administration should confirm the final adopted total and, if necessary, publish an amended budget document for the public record.
