The board also approved an amendment to the 2025–26 compensation plan (items 3 and 4) with one abstention by Trustee Jacqueline Jean-Baptiste (final tally: 5 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain, 1 absent) and authorized food-purchasing contracts for the 2025–26 school year: Hiland Dairy (not to exceed $195,000), Gordon Food Services (not to exceed $950,000), and Brothers Produce (not to exceed $100,000). The total not-to-exceed amount across those vendors is $1,245,000. In addition, following closed session the board voted to authorize the Superintendent and his designee to take action regarding a former employee's grievance (motion by Patricia Soza-Montelongo; passed 6–0, 1 absent).
