Town hears Hemlock Ridge Solar update; decommissioning agreement still pending

The Town of Barre received an update on Hemlock Ridge Solar during the Dec. 10 meeting. Chair reported the project appears to be moving ahead toward construction, and the developer anticipates connecting public water "end of March, beginning of April" to serve the project.
Board members said the decommissioning agreement is still in review: the town sent comments to the developer but had not received a revised draft in time for the meeting. One member said the board might have a revised decommissioning agreement before the Dec. 29 meeting. The town also noted it has not yet identified a compliance monitor for Hemlock Ridge and will address monitoring as other project steps are finalized.
