Allie Ivey, Director of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, presented YouthTruth survey results from Spring 2025, noting 2,082 student respondents across grades 3—6 and urging the board to view belonging and engagement alongside academic measures. "Sense of belonging is a measurable driver of academic success," Ivey said, underscoring staff's argument that perception data should inform mid-year interventions rather than wait for year-end state results. The board agreed to request disaggregated and cohort-trend data and asked staff to compare local interim assessments (i-Ready) with state metrics to identify earlier intervention points.
