Merced County Board elects Dennis Hanks as 2025 chair, names Tim Razzari vice chair

The Merced County Board of Education held its annual reorganization during the Dec. 16, 2024 regular meeting, electing Dennis Hanks as chairperson for 2025 and Tim Razzari as vice chair.
Frank Fagundes moved and Geneva Brett seconded the nomination of Dennis Hanks for chair; the motion carried by a 4-0 vote. Later, Geneva Brett moved and Dennis Hanks seconded the nomination of Tim Razzari for vice chair; that motion also carried 4-0. County Superintendent Steve M. Tietjen administered the business as the board finalized appointments for the coming year.
The board announced that Frank Fagundes was administered the Oath of Office for Board Trustee, Area 3 during the meeting; Superintendent Tietjen introduced Rodrigo Espinosa as a newly elected board member who is scheduled to be sworn in on Dec. 18, 2024. The meeting record notes the four-year terms for elected members ending in 2028.
