North Bend board holds Title VI Indian Education public hearing, schedules parent meeting

The North Bend School District Board on May 1 heard an update on its Title VI Indian Education program from Dayna Cahill, Director of Teaching and Learning, and held a short public hearing.
Cahill told the board there will be a parent meeting on May 6, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hall of Champions and that a Tribal History/Shared History summer seminar is scheduled for June 16–18. The public hearing was opened at 7:11 p.m.; NBEA representative Eva Varga commented that she had attended the Tribal History/Shared History seminar and described it as "great." The hearing closed at 7:13 p.m.
The update focused on program outreach and upcoming events; the board did not take an action vote during the May 1 meeting. Parents and interested community members were directed to the May 6 meeting for further input and participation.
