The Sweetwater Independent School District Board of Trustees reorganized leadership at its May 20 meeting, re-electing Mark Garcia as board president. Trustee Tasha Soto nominated Garcia; no other nominations were received and the board voted unanimously to re-elect him.
Brenda Valdez nominated Tasha Soto to remain as board secretary; the nomination received no opposition and Soto was re-elected unanimously. Mark Garcia nominated Trustee Dennis Cumbie for vice-president; Cumbie was elected unanimously. All officer elections passed 7-0.
