The council heard a draft pedestrian‑facility inventory prepared by Creighton Manning for the Dutchess County Transportation Council. Amanda LaRosa, project engineer, told the council the field team recorded about 2,400 observation points and spent roughly 124 hours in the field, grading sidewalks, curb ramps, pedestrian signals and crosswalks by condition and accessibility features.
LaRosa said about 64% of sidewalks were rated in the top two categories and over 80% of curb ramps were rated good or very good; crosswalks fared well on visibility with over 85% in the top two categories. She highlighted a city request to map contiguous sidewalk gaps near downtown and reported the inventory identified roughly 15,000 linear feet of gaps. The consultant delivered GIS files and a draft report for distribution to the council and asked members to mark any mapping omissions or discrepancies by ward so the team can refine the final report.
