Zillah administrative updates: temporary engine storage lease, Vintage Valley outreach, pickleball scheduling and community yard sale

City staff reported a $100/month lease with Agri Properties to store the Fire Engine April–September 2025 during county fire station remodeling, meetings with Vintage Valley Parkway Plaza owners on signage and occupancy, pickleball court surfacing scheduled in 2–3 weeks, and a community yard sale set for April 26 (permit deadline April 24, $5).
City Administrator Michael Grayum updated the council on several administrative items on April 7. The city signed a temporary lease with Agri Properties for $100 per month to store the Fire Engine indoors from April to September 2025 while the county fire station the city leases is remodeled; Grayum said this was the closest and most cost‑effective indoor option and asked the council to join in thanking Mr. David Marshal of Agri Properties.
Grayum also said court surfacing and painting for the new pickleball courts is being scheduled in about 2–3 weeks when evening weather is warmer and that a ribbon‑cutting celebration will be planned once a date is finalized. Separately, Grayum and Community Development Director Ardele Steele met with the owners and potential tenants of the Vintage Valley Parkway Plaza to review signage and temporary occupancy policies; they also met with the Seedlings store owners to discuss operational changes and a new tenant transition. Grayum announced a Community Yard Sale for Saturday, April 26; the last day to get yard sale permits is April 24 and the permit cost is $5.
