Stanfield administrators report reading gains; staff to publish fall-to-spring comparison

"So what you're looking at is, is a a chart that shows our school by grade level," the staff member said while describing the chart. The presenter noted that comparing fall-to-winter this year the district has "all but 1 of our grade levels in the top right quadrant," which the presenter described as both high growth and high achievement.
The presenter said the school has more students in the proficient category than last year—"I'm guessing about probably 20% more kids"—and that a fall-to-spring report will be prepared once spring results are in to show the full-year trend.
Board members discussed sharing results with staff and parents and adding five minutes to daily reading time next year. The Booster Club's recent purchase of classroom book sets was noted as supporting expanded shared-reading activities.
