The tipping-fee pass-through analysis was presented to the Board and Director Sergio Contreras suggested boosting public awareness through radio outreach and the District’s social media channels. Director Tyler Diep moved to direct staff to prepare and mail the Proposition 218 notice; Director Sergio Contreras seconded. The motion carried 5-0 (AYES: Contreras, A. Nguyen, M. Nguyen, Diep, C. Nguyen).
The Proposition 218 notice is the formal step California local agencies use to notify property owners of proposed rate changes and to schedule a public hearing where residents can protest or comment prior to any rate adoption.
