Ridgefield Park schedules public hearing on amended 2026 budget; municipal increase equals roughly $100 per home

The Village Board of Commissioners opened a public hearing on the CY2026 municipal budget at its June 18 caucus meeting and closed the hearing after no members of the public appeared. "The total budget is $28,482,987.00," Mayor Adam MacNeill said during the session.
Board materials show the municipal portion of the budget increased 2.2%, which the board estimated will amount to roughly $100 on an average assessed home. The school portion was reported as a 6.5% increase—about $450 to $470 per average assessed home—and the county levy was estimated to add roughly $40 for the typical property owner.
The board moved and approved Resolution 2026-66 to amend the 2026 municipal budget; Mayor MacNeill made the motion, Commissioner William G. Gerken seconded, and Commissioners Anlian, Gerken, Portorreal and Mayor MacNeill voted "YEA." Commissioner Mirza was absent. The board set a public hearing on the amendment for June 23, 2026.
