The Kalona City Council passed the first reading of Ordinance No. 2026-369, an amendment to Chapter 92.02 setting municipal water rates for July 2026 through July 2032. The motion was made by Councilmember Yeggy-Berg and seconded by Councilmember G Schmidt; Councilmembers Bender, G Schmidt, Yeggy-Berg and Beran voted yes and J Schmidt was absent. The ordinance lists the schedule of monthly base charges and per-1,000-gallon rates adopted for each forthcoming year.
