Administrator McCafferty reported on a recently attended "Film Ready" workshop hosted by the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission, explaining the certification process and how the borough might be listed on the Reel Scout website to promote filming opportunities. McCafferty said the borough could amend its film ordinance and standardize permitting and fees to make it easier for productions to film in Pitman, noting potential immediate and ongoing economic benefits when a production comes to town.
Council did not take action at the work session but asked staff to consider whether amendments and a fee schedule would be appropriate and to return with recommended language and implementation steps.
