Pitman proclaims May 12–15 as Youth Week; Youth Council helps plan events

Becca Mazzola, chairwoman of the Youth Council, read a proclamation "naming May 12-15, 2025 as Borough of Pitman Youth Week" during the April 14 council meeting and the council approved the minutes from March 24, 2025 before moving into Youth Week planning.
The council and Youth Council members outlined the four-day schedule: May 12 — Jr./Sr. high speedball tournament; May 13 — entertainment at Ballard Park for pre-K and kindergarten; May 14 — pop-up park at Sunset Auditorium; and May 15 — Career Day and youth track and field. Council President James also noted the annual Egg Scramble moved to its rain date on April 19. The council said the Youth Advisory Council and staff are coordinating logistics and volunteer support for the events.
The Youth Council’s participation was highlighted as part of the meeting’s goal to involve younger residents in planning. "Thank you to the Pitman Youth Advisory Council for all of your hard work with Director Fox planning Youth Week activities for our youngest residents!" Councilman Mazzola said in his report. The Youth Week proclamation and schedule are intended to give families and schools time to prepare for the May activities.
