Union Grove ISD board adopts 2025–26 budget, sets $1.0472 total tax rate

The Union Grove Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 29 to adopt the district’s 2025–26 budget and to set the current-year tax rate at $1.0472.
Trustee Tim Bower moved to adopt the 2025–26 budget as presented; Trustee Tim Turner seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Later in the meeting Trustee Tim Turner moved, and Trustee Brian Cox seconded, adoption by ordinance of a maintenance-and-operations rate of $0.07551 and an interest-and-sinking rate of $0.2921, reflecting levy support for $3,389,875 in Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2020, and $9,801,750 in Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2024. Board minutes note that the M&O levy for this year exceeds last year’s M&O levy.
The board also approved a separate year-end budget amendment to balance all functions of the General Operating Fund (see related action). No members of the public spoke during the budget hearing, and the meeting concluded with an adjournment at 5:13 p.m.
