The Cheraw Town Council approved a request to authorize a new residential water tap at 926 State Road, a location outside the town limits that requires council approval under town policy.
Staff reported that Director Doug Stowe reviewed the request and found sufficient capacity for the connection. "The policy requires that any new water or sewer taps outside of the town limits be approved by town council," a staff presenter said. The council moved, seconded and approved the measure by voice vote.
The record included some clarification about whether the request related to a business or a residential connection; staff and council identified the request as residential and noted the site is adjacent to a Presbyterian church for reference. The council did not record a roll-call vote on the motion.
