The police representative said the bicycles will enhance patrol presence in shopping centers, community events and trails and that training will be provided once the bikes are delivered.
"We applied for this matching gift and were awarded $21,771.49 for 4 fully equipped Recon interceptor power bikes," the presenter said. Commissioners discussed logistics, training and whether bikes could be taken home; staff said the gift includes equipment and that training and assembly would follow approval. The commission approved the resolution unanimously, 5-0.
