Economic development committee approves January distribution of business survey

Staff said the city has 579 local business tax licenses on record; after removing transient rentals and duplicate listings the working count is 456 businesses. During the vote one member moved to approve the distribution and the motion carried by voice. "So moved," one member said when making the motion, and members answered "Aye" on the voice vote.
Why it matters: the survey is intended to collect business owner input on permitting, infrastructure and marketing as part of the committee’s planning for the US‑1 corridor. Committee members planned to follow up in February by calling businesses and using survey results to inform scenario planning for code changes.
