The Zoning Board reviewed an application from 5 Below for a new wall sign at a shopping center at 1200 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon. Representative Paula Ruiz said the proposed wall face area is 224 square feet (including painted background) with 112 square feet of actual lettering; she cited comparable approvals for larger signs at Uncle Giuseppe's (2020) and PetSmart (2023).
Board members asked for a condition that any future alteration to the sign would require a return to the ZBA; 5 Below's representative agreed. The board closed the hearing and reserved decision pending Suffolk County Planning comments.
