Elias Tavernatus, representing the owner, described repeated flooding at the property and said some structures (a shed and a disused outdoor shower) could be removed quickly but that removing substantial concrete to meet lot-coverage limits would be burdensome for the family. Tavernatus said the concrete predated their ownership and was present when the town earlier issued approvals. The board pressed for removal of the shed and accepted the applicant's assurance that it could be removed "tomorrow morning."
The board closed the hearing and reserved decision so pending agency materials (Suffolk County planning) can be received and reviewed before a final determination.
