The borough introduced Ordinance 2026-13 to establish a $50 annual farmers’ market vendor permit under §363-5 of the Borough Code. The change would allow vendors participating in duly authorized farmers’ markets within South River to operate for the calendar year without purchasing additional one-day temporary permits and clarifies the permit applies to market stands only, not food trucks.
Council presented the ordinance as a measure to provide a clearer, more predictable fee structure for farmers’ market vendors. The ordinance was introduced on first reading and will return for a public hearing and second reading on June 8, 2026.
