The Waco Independent School District Board of Trustees on Sept. 12 voted to name Dr. Tiffany Spicer as the lone finalist for superintendent. Trustee Keith Guillory made the motion, Trustee Jeremy Davis seconded it, and the board approved the motion unanimously, 7-0.
Board President Stephanie Korteweg opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. and said, "a quorum of Board Members was present, that the meeting had been duly called, and that the notice of the meeting had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551." After the motion to name Dr. Spicer, the board convened into closed session at 6:06 p.m. to deliberate personnel matters and reconvened at 7:23 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
