The Village of Stronghurst on July 2 approved hiring Jackson Timmerman as a full-time truck driver to haul water using the village's equipment. The motion to hire Timmerman was made by Trustee Michael Bohnenkamp and seconded by Trustee Janice Smith; the motion passed unanimously.
Water Superintendent Ronnie Gittings told the board the village is hauling water roughly three to four days per week and that having in-house equipment has improved scheduling and reliability. The hire formalizes staffing to support that operation, according to the minutes.
