The Monroe Public Schools Board of Education voted Jan. 13 to proceed with the sale of the Navarre Field property at 211 Jones Ave in Monroe to Fountain Enterprise for $313,534.
Superintendent Andrew Shaw presented the proposal, saying the district had already sold a portion of the property and recommended completion of the transaction. "We are recommending to our board tonight to move to approve the sale of the property located at 211 Jones Ave, Monroe, Michigan ... to Fountain Enterprise for $313,534," the superintendent said, and he asked the board to authorize him to execute necessary documents to complete the sale. The board discussed that alternative practice and game locations for the middle-school football and baseball teams are available and that the purchaser's current plan is to continue field use.
A board member moved to proceed with the sale as presented and the motion passed on roll call.
