After a short procedural discussion about whether to follow Robert's Rules or the printed appointment sheet, Darla Myers was appointed vice president, Mary Vincent was named secretary, Carrie Williams was appointed treasurer and Brian Sabadini was selected as parliamentarian. The board also designated Gary Jenkins as liaison to the Monroe County Intermediate School District. The superintendent noted the process was atypically long this year but formalized the board's leadership for the calendar year.
"Congratulations," said the superintendent after the temporary chair motion passed, marking the transition in presiding duties and the start of the formal officer votes. All appointments were made by motion, support and roll call.
The board will operate under the newly appointed officers for routine and special business during 2026. No controversial nominations were raised during the votes, and the board moved on to other agenda items after the appointments.
