WALLER ISD previews 2025–26 federal grant applications including ESSA, Perkins V and Special Ed consolidation

Amy Carranza, Director of State and Federal Programs, outlined the district's plan to apply for the 2025–26 Consolidated Federal Grant under ESSA, including Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; Title III, Part A; and Title IV, Part A. Carranza said allocations are drawn from the Comprehensive Needs Assessment, District and Campus Improvement Plans, and ongoing evaluation.
Carranza also noted the district will apply for Perkins V funds to support Career and Technical Education and the Special Education Consolidated Grant to support students with disabilities. The board received the informational update; staff will return with formal applications and allocation details for approval as required.
