Leah described the health science program as the district's largest CTE pathway, with 196 students enrolled this year and two instructors who are registered nurses. She said students can complete up to four years of coursework and are eligible for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Patient Care Technician certifications used by local employers.
Leah said business partners report strong hiring demand: "That's what ProMedica is hiring direct out of her classroom, plus the local long term care facilities," she said, noting the patient care pathway gives graduates entry-level positions locally while many continue to college-level health programs.
