Kittitas County releases draft six-year transportation plan, seeks three weeks of online public comment

Kittitas County Public Works presented a draft Six-Year Transportation Plan intended to guide transportation projects and budgeting over the next six years and opened a roughly three-week public comment period via an online open house.
Joshua Fredrickson of Kittitas County Public Works told the board the draft reflects staff review of road conditions, data, project needs and cost estimates, and that project timing and sequencing were informed by road ratings, scoring matrices and priority arrays. Fredrickson said projects in the plan are funded through a combination of local road funds, grants already secured and grant opportunities the county will pursue.
Fredrickson said the county will post the draft on its website with an online public response form for about three weeks, supported by a press release; Public Works will compile comments and return the plan to the board in September, with adoption anticipated in late September or October. The draft includes bridges and priority projects identified through the department's scoring process.
