Westbrook ISD orders May 2, 2026 school board election for four seats

The Westbrook ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Jan. 27 to order a general election on May 2, 2026 to elect four members to four-year terms.
The board approved a motion by Jim Hale, seconded by Thomas Connell, to set the election. The district designated the Westbrook Community Building, 302 W Thorne Street, as the polling place for May 2, 2026, with polling hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted weekdays at the Westbrook ISD Business Office, 102 Bertner, Westbrook, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday–Thursday, April 20–28, 2026. Applications for ballots by mail are to be mailed to Leslie Moody, PO Box 99, Westbrook, Texas 79565; applications must be received by close of business on April 20, 2026.
The motion text included a standard election calendar: Jan. 14, 2026 as the first day to file for a place on the ballot and Feb. 13, 2026 as the last day to file. The board recorded April 2, 2026 as the last day to register to vote and April 20, 2026 as the first day of early voting.
Because the motion carried with all votes "For," the board made no changes to the dates or locations included in its order. The board did not record additional debate in the open minutes.
The district will publish official election notices as required under state law and follow the calendar adopted by the board.
