Kellen Adams, Superintendent of Piper USD 203, told families and staff that House Bill 2,299 makes two principal changes affecting the district: a bell‑to‑bell restriction on student personal electronic devices, and new boundaries for how school employees communicate with students through social media. "House Bill 2,299 brings 2 changes that affect the Piper USD 203 community," Adams said.
The district will translate the statutory requirements into age‑appropriate, building‑level procedures for Piper Early Childhood, Piper Creek and Piper Prairie Elementary, Piper Middle School and Piper High School, Adams said. Families should review the procedures shared by their school principal; staff will teach and consistently follow the procedure provided by building leaders. Adams directed families to a district web page that will centralize building procedures, FAQs and links to approved tools, and provided the communications director's contact for questions.
