Kittitas County directs resolution to allow annexation into Fire District 4

At its July 13, 2026 Office Administration meeting, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners directed county staff to prepare a resolution to permit annexation into Fire District #4 in lieu of holding a public hearing. Chief Administrator Sue Higginbotham reviewed a Certificate of Sufficiency for the requested annexation covering an area in and around 28001 Vantage Hwy and outlined the documents and options available to the Board.
The Board instructed staff to work with Deputy Prosecutor Miko Tempski to draft the resolution and related documents. No formal vote on the resolution was recorded at the meeting; the action taken was a direction to prepare the required paperwork so the annexation can proceed under the process described by staff.
