The Municipal Grounds and Property Committee voted March 24 to award the Memorial Park gazebo rebuild to Black Lion Construction for their low bid of $68,700.00. City Administrator Adam Jasinski said the project was posted for bid on March 3 and bids were opened March 17; 16 plan holders registered and five bids were received. The motion to award, moved by Chairman Begley and seconded by Alderman Brennan, passed on a voice vote.
Jasinski told the committee, "We budgeted $150,000.00 for this project," noting three of the five bids came in below that budget and that references for Black Lion Construction were positive. He also showed material samples that align with the original gazebo colors and stated that funding will come from Casino revenue. Committee members recorded unanimous approval of the award.
