Ben Kushman, the THS Green Team liaison, updated the commission on student-led projects. The bottle-cap recycling art project is ongoing and may include a collection box at the Tenafly Nature Center; students will also join a cleanup with Hackensack Riverkeeper the week after the Trash-A-Thon.
Ben, Julie O'Connor and DPW representative Pat Mason planned to meet offline to identify resources to support the THS courtyard garden and planting the boxes in front of the school with flowers. Ben will ask students whether they want to build deer-net protection for the Grove Street boxes and will inform them about creating fairy houses for the July 26 "Fireflies & Faeries" program.
