PTAC moves to trim outdated destinations in IGA, discusses clearer vehicle signage for fixed routes

Committee members proposed modest, targeted edits to the MC Ride IGA and explored options to reduce rider confusion between demand‑response and fixed‑route services. "We get calls all the time saying I'm on US 14... The bus just passed me up," said Scott Eddings, describing the customer-experience problem when buses look similar. Suggestions included using different vehicle types for fixed routes, magnetic decals or larger side signage, or reserving certain buses to increase continuity.
On the IGA, members agreed to remove a small set of obsolete or duplicate point destinations (for example, references to Spring Hill Mall) and to include the option of removing priority booking as part of next year’s IGA review. Staff said they will bring revised IGA language to the transportation committee in August for formal consideration.
