Risk management added a $25,000 software request (Everlaw) to support the state's attorney's civil litigation workflow and cited longstanding practices of allocating funds for sheriff body armor and coroner medical-waste disposal. The sheriff allocation was increased slightly — roughly $5,000 — to reflect rising costs for protective equipment. The division also said it would reduce travel and training in the coming year to contain costs.
The committee asked when definitive insurance premium numbers will be available; risk management said the broker's final figures are expected in October and will be presented before the November budget approval meeting.
